“Bisharat Al Qaidh” (sign of summer)

The Sharjah Institute for Heritage organizes "Bisharat Al-Qaidh" annually to celebrate the Emirati heritage, reviving its symbols in children and school students. The event aims at developing the children's cultural knowledge and educate them about the importance of preserving heritage through a large number of quality programmes tailored for different ages. These help them smoothly absorb and understand the flow of information and concepts.

Qaidh means in the UAE the summer, which is known for intense heat. It has many meanings indicating it, including the signs of the ripening of palm dates. The SIH chooses every year a new topic related to the summer, to be a slogan for the event, during which everything related to this occasion is recalled such as poetry, prose, sayings, wisdom and proverbs.
